All staff - reception, porters, restaurant and kitchen staff, housekeeping, bar staff, young man who collected glasses from pool and beach and wiped sunbeds every day, maintenance staff and gardeners (hope I haven't missed anyone) - were all polite, cheerful and helpful. So much obviously goes on behind the scenes that holiday makers do not see, but it all adds to the enjoyment and smooth running of our holiday.
The hotel is very nice and welcoming, and has a very relaxed feel to it.

Had a fantastic holiday and hotel/resort was good value for money. Hotel was very pleasant, grounds and beach were stunning. Location was perfect for us as it was peaceful and secluded and was an excellent base for further exploration and the various trips we went on. The public beach was beautiful and we enjoyed daily walks on it. Hotel staff were all lovely, friendly and ready to help. From the moment we were greeted until the end of our stay, I cannot fault the politeness, manners and general warmth of all the staff. The food was generally to a high standard and we were made aware we could order anything if we were not happy with what was on offer. We were happy with the all inclusive drinks and the service in the bar was excellent. Our room was cleaned to a very good standard and our housekeeper made sure we had complimentary toiletries as well as some fab towel sculptures! Some areas of the hotel needed a little updating and minor maintenance work carried out but taking in to account what we paid, I feel we still received excellent value for money. I would happily recommend the Jalsa Beach, if you want both a beautiful location and friendly atmosphere this is the place to stay.

Small, friendly hotel. The hotel is a little tired in some areas but this does not detract from the overall enjoyable experience. The small size made for a friendly intimate atmosphere. Whilst not the classic Mauritian beach it was clean and the water clear and shallow.
The food was superb and the dining staff always willing to accommodate any requests.

We heard the hotel is going to be refurbished, which is nice, but if it lost any of what I call its colonial charm it would be sad.
Everywhere within the hotel and grounds are kept clean and tidy.
Excellent choice of food, no one should ever go hungry or complain there was nothing to eat or the food lacked choice.
But they will!!!!!

Excellent quiet hotel in a beautiful location. The hotel was everything we had hoped and wished for. We had researched the hotel and facilities beforehand and this is exactly what we wanted i.e a quiet restful holiday. The view from our large deluxe sea view room was amazing. The hotel was very clean and well kept, with a very good choice of food, and in an idyllic setting. The staff are very friendly and helpful and are an absolute asset to the Hotel.
Would highly recommend Jalsa Beach for a quiet holiday in an amazing location.

Very warm and friendly staff. Situation very good, but most days windy. All food was excellent, Indian and European. Chefs were great. Room 309 was also very good with views of Bar, garden and sea. Would recommend if you are looking for a very peaceful holiday.
As only one Bar (pool side) could do with much better atmospheric lighting and music, as is, very dim, so not many guests would stay. Shame as the bar staff were Brilliant.
